Well, I am writing this in response to my self. Self, you should have known better than not to check every connector on a used car first and foremost. The PTU recall subharness connectors were in such bad shape, that some were just touching the surface of each other. And a good amount of electrical lube was in there making for a poor contact overall. I cleaned them with Easy-OFF, took a brass brush to them, and rinsed them out with water. Good as new. Lubed with WD-40, and the car fired right up. Well, goes to show me that if I buy a used car: a. check and recheck all connectors. b. changed everything that looks like aftermarket with OEM or better. c. Its a used car and Murphy's law applies exponentially. d. stay away from other peoples' modded cars. e. its a used car anyway!.
